Look for a contractor or design practice with experience relevant to your project, clear responsibility across design and construction, and a process for coordinating permits, consultants, materials, and site work. Review completed residential projects, communication practices, and how decisions are documented. For complex renovations, an integrated architecture and interior design approach can help connect the home’s technical and aesthetic requirements.
