Start by defining the project scope and determining whether you need design, permitting, construction, or integrated guidance. Review relevant residential experience, communication practices, coordination capabilities, and examples of comparable work. A strong partner should explain responsibilities clearly, collaborate with consultants and contractors, and help you understand how decisions affect the project from concept through completion.
