Permit requirements depend on the work proposed, its scope, and the reviewing jurisdiction. Residential projects such as new construction, additions, alterations, and many remodels commonly require design review and building permits. Requirements can vary between Los Angeles and nearby cities, so homeowners should confirm the applicable process before beginning work. Ortiz Mexia Projects, Inc. supports residential projects from single-family homes through buildings of up to four units.
