Cabinetry designed around your room, storage needs, and broader architectural concept, with practical detailing and an emphasis on sustainable systems and aesthetic longevity.
Integrated built-ins create cohesive storage and display solutions that connect cabinetry with surrounding walls, interiors, and architectural elements throughout the home.
Bespoke furniture pieces can complement cabinetry and interiors, extending a unified design language across residential spaces with durable, thoughtfully considered forms.
Custom cabinetry can do more than provide storage: it can clarify circulation, support daily routines, and strengthen the character of an interior. Ortiz Mexia Projects coordinates cabinetry and built-ins with architectural and interior design decisions, creating a cohesive result for Los Angeles homes and other California projects. The studio favors timeless elegance, environmental responsibility, occupant health, and solutions that remain useful beyond passing trends.

Assoc. AIA, Principal
Santiago Ortiz is the founder and principal of Ortiz Mexia Projects, Inc., an architecture and design practice serving Los Angeles and Colorado's Roaring Fork Valley. Born and raised in Colombia, Santiago moved to Providence, Rhode Island, to pursue his passion for design, graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1999 with degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts. After relocating to Los Angeles, he honed his craft at small architecture firms specializing in high-end custom residences and boutique commercial spaces before founding his own practice in 2006. Santiago is an Associate Member of The American Institute of Architects and brings a timeless, elegant sensibility to every project, from custom furniture and built-ins to full-scale residential construction. His work has been featured in Interior Design Magazine and the Los Angeles Times, reflecting his commitment to thoughtful, well-crafted design.
There is no reliable universal average for custom cabinets because the scope varies with room dimensions, storage requirements, detailing, materials, hardware, and the level of architectural coordination. Ortiz Mexia Projects does not publish standard pricing. A consultation can clarify whether you need individual cabinetry, integrated built-ins, or a broader residential design service before project costs are developed.
